El Refugio is the over 200 year old main house of the winemaker family on the hacienda, which has been stylishly and tastefully complemented by other building parts. This special vacation home is located above the own vineyard on La Palma and yet also embedded in the magnificent nature. From the Refugio you have unique views, directly from the bedroom you look both over the cloud cover on the endless Atlantic, as well as through its own skylight directly into the starry sky.
El Refugio is individually furnished to a high standard and impresses with different levels and light-flooded rooms. The house has 2 private roof terraces that cannot be seen and offers sleeping facilities for a total of up to 6 people (1 x double bed master bedroom + 2 single beds small bedroom + 1 x double bed in the studio).
Directly connected by a planted patio, the studio opens up with its own bathroom, kitchenette and roof terrace, which can be added if required. The studio is only offered in conjunction with the El Refugio main house and is particularly suitable for families with children or vacation with friends.
The adjacent panoramic suite El Mirador can be booked as a separate accommodation unit also individually for 2 people. The two building sections fit authentically into the structures of the more than 70,000 m² vineyard that have grown over decades. A spatial separation of the entrances, secluded seating areas and private terraces within the densely overgrown subtropical garden with numerous fruit and almond trees ensure unrestricted peace and privacy even when both residential units are occupied at the same time.
The original Canarian architecture was complemented by a modern interior, which leaves little to be desired with various closed fireplaces, Siemens brand kitchen, fast and stable Internet via directional radio, German SAT TV and a Dobson 10′ space telescope for stargazing. The tasteful and unagitated furnishings of the houses create space to relax and unwind.
The south-west facing, very windless property at 1,380m.a.s.l. is mostly above the cloud cover of the island and extends widely over various wine terraces and hills. Wooden garden furniture, sun loungers and the open nature invite you to relax. The pool with its own pool kitchen is certainly the most beautiful pool on the island. Enjoy the fascinating sound of silence surrounded by centuries old vines, almond and various fruit trees in this unique place.
