Rental car La Palma - Relaxed arrival at Hacienda La Palma
Freedom on four wheels - discover La Palma
The best way to explore Isla Bonita is at your own pace. Start your vacation directly at the airport – relaxed, fair and safe with our personal recommendation.
Why you should be mobile on La Palma.
La Palma is a jewel full of contrasts – from the fragrant pine forests of the caldera to the black volcanic beaches in the south. To reach the hidden corners of the island and of course your vacation home at Hacienda La Palma in a relaxed manner, a rental car is essential.
Enjoy the drive along the panoramic coastal roads, stop spontaneously at a mirador (viewpoint) and experience the island independently of bus timetables.
Our heartfelt recommendationMonta Rent a Car
We know that renting a car on vacation can often cause stress. That’s why we have been working with the local family business Monta Rent a Car for years. At Monta, you will experience Palmerian hospitality instead of corporate anonymity.
Frequently asked questions about car rental on La Palma
Do I necessarily need a rental car on La Palma?
Although there is a bus network, we strongly recommend having your own car for maximum vacation freedom. This is the only way to reach the most beautiful, secluded bays, the hiking trails in the Caldera de Taburiente and, of course, your vacation home at our hacienda in a relaxed manner and at your own pace.
Which vehicle is best suited for the roads on La Palma?
La Palma is a fascinatingly steep island with many mountain roads. We therefore recommend vehicles that pull well uphill or have a little more ground clearance:
– The compact climber: For couples and adventurers (especially for guests of our Tiny House), the Suzuki Ignis 4×4 is our absolute recommendation.
– The space miracle: If you are traveling with the family or have a lot of luggage, hiking or sports equipment with you, the VW Caddy offers the perfect amount of space.
What insurance is really necessary on the island?
We strongly recommend fully comprehensive insurance without an excess, which should also cover glass and tire damage. On the sometimes stony or unsurfaced island roads, a stone chip can easily happen. With our partner Monta Rent a Car, this all-round carefree package is already included in the transparent final price – without any nasty surprises or hidden costs on site.
What happens if I need help on the road?
A major advantage of our recommendation is Monta’s dedicated, German-speaking customer service. If you have any questions about the road conditions, need help or have a problem, you will always have a friendly and competent contact person who will support you in German.
How does the car handover at the airport (SPC) work?
The handover is as relaxed as your vacation should be. A Monta employee will be waiting for you directly at the airport when you land. You don’t have to get on shuttle buses or wait in long queues at the counters of the large corporations. The keys will be handed over directly at the parking lot and you can set off for Hacienda La Palma straight away.
